The Process Of My Passion Project
Process
We first started by choosing our topic and adviser who would be helping us along the way with edits, ideas, and feedback. I had a slow start to the project and some difficulty with choosing a topic to stick with while balancing my time management skills with the grade 6 activity and other commitments outside of school. By working hard, planning, and help from my adviser in meetings I was able to get working at a good pace. I learned that patience and perseverance was key for not only this project but others to come. I did this by reminding myself if I made a mistake or was stressed to stay calm and just start getting things done. I am proud of a lot in my project but mainly for my activity with grade six. I designed 3 activities for them; a photo match and a fact match page as well as a true or false Kahoot based on my short presentation. I see this as a great opportunity for grade 11 and 12 as well to continue my project by doing the same activity with the upcoming grade six classes and hopefully persuing an internship opportunity from Mrs. Sharma. My biggest advice for someone in the years to come starting a passion project would be that you shouldn't be afraid of this project. It is so much fun when you are learning about something you love. I am glad last year I started learning more about myself and what my interests are. Knowing I liked space my project was so much more enjoyable and it didn't feel like work.
Evidence Of Learning - Meetings
Each student is given a passion project booklet guide that they use to track their meetings with their adviser. This booklet includes challenges, successes, and the planning stages for you passion project. Your adviser is also given one that they use as an outline to help you throughout the year by checking off all the steps you need to strive for and accomplish.
