About Me

Who Am I?

My name is Siena Liba and I am a grade ten student at Balmoral Hall who is interested in space. I have been attending this school since I was in childcare, and have made many great friends since then. With the school I play basketball and ultimate, as well as being on tech crew for the school's past two high school musicals. I am so grateful for the education I receive at this school and for the skills I have learned. Last year, I really started discovering different jobs and learning about what I could be in the future. I thought about many careers and started taking an interest in space. Through this project, researching for my padlet and learning from my interviews, it has been so exciting and given me experience for what it's like reaching out to people and hosting activities.

Trip To Kennedy Space Center

How Did This Start?

Almost one year ago I was first exploring my interest in space and astronomy. Because of this I wanted to try out learning how to fly. For this I got to go up in the plane with an instructor to show me what the experience would be like. Then we tried another place that I took a few lessons from which consisted of learning in a room what were we going to do and then flying and applying the knowledge. Earlier this year, I decided this is something I really want to do and joined air cadets. Doing this next year I can learn to fly and go for my glider and powers exam for free.

What Is My Plan?

In school I want to learn about space and see which topics like astrophysics or others interest me, and continue with them in university. It is important to me that I look into internship opportunities along the way and continue learning with flying on the side so I can keep my options open for the future.
